Toshiba AC Adapter Recall Issues

Whether the recall issue is a good phenomenon or bad, different people hold different opinions. Personally speaking, I am tired of the recall issues, especially those products that connected to our life. Recently Toshiba recalled certain laptop AC adapter. A friend came to ask about his A200-1FJ AC adapter, I couldn’t help laughing.

This time, Toshiba recalls some overheating laptop adapters which were sold in the United States and Canada. The models that are being recalled are T135, T135D and ProT130.  Those adapters could melt according to the announcement. My friend had some comfort that his A200-1FJ AC adapter was not included. This time it received 129 reports of the computer cases melting and deforming, presenting a fire and burn hazard. That is really astonishing. There is seldom record about the burning adapter. As the report said:

“Certain Satellite T135, T135D and Satellite Pro T130 laptop computers have been manufactured with a potentially faulty DC-In harness.  These computers will have model/part numbers beginning with PST3AU, PST3BU, or PST3LU. The defective harness may, in some circumstances, overheat to the point of melting the computer’s base at the location where the AC adaptor plugs into the unit.  To date there have been no reports of serious injury, but the temperature is sufficient to pose a burn hazard if specific parts of the DC-In Jack or plug are touched when they are overheated.”

Toshiba realized this problem and issued a BIOS update. This BIOS revision can prevent the computer from overheating and protect your laptop. Though there was no injury revealed, this shocked lots Toshiba users.

As mentioned above, my friend has a Toshiba laptop with A200-1FJ AC adapter, he is still in worry. If I was the owner of one of these laptops, I would contact Toshiba and see what they are offering as a replacement for the faulty AC Adapter.

How to solve the USB device not recognized problem in Windows

When we install the USB Flash disk into my laptop, sometimes the windows may notice : ‘USB device not found “. What should I do ? As the laptop I/O interface (port) are USB port. When the “USB device not found” we can not connect the mouse, keyboard, camera, phone and printer to our Dell vostro 1700 battery laptop! You can see the detail info below:

So I started with the usual methods to repair it, including uninstalling the drivers for my devices and reinstalling them. This usually can solve the problem (sometime the ” USB device not found ” problem caused by the disc not plug in steady), but now it did not work! Then I tried to reboot the laptop to make the system to recognize the USB drivers. It did not work!

Then I asked the problem in Yahoo answer about this problem, Some one from http://www.battery4.us kindly answered my problem. Then I try his ways to solved the problem (USB driver can not work in the system). So I open the Device Manager, and uninstall all devices under USB controllers. Then reboot the Dell xps m1210 laptop, install the USB drivers, but the problem also be there !

You can do it in Device Manager that the device is listed as ” unknown device to see. ”

So, how do I finally solved the problem? Well, apparently is a super easy solution! No need to edit the registry, uninstall the driver, or something like that.

Just disconnect your Dell xps m1730 battery laptop from the wall outlet. Yes it is! Note that this does not stop just because its newer computers do not really stop when you press the power button, while the motherboard is still power.

i have a dell laptop, i believe its a latitude, and the mouse will work fine for a bit and then it will shoot to a corner of the screen, like something is pulling it there, and wen u try to move it it just shoots rite back, but after a bit it will work for a couple min’s. and its not our wireless mouse cause it does it wen its not pluged in and i even pulled my wireless card thinking it may be a third party causeing it, but no still the same problem. so does anybody know what is causing it and/or how to fix it? Is it detrimental if my laptop cooling pad is directly under the fan under my laptop?

I am asking this question because the fans on my cooling pad draw air in, and the fan under my laptop draws air in as well. Therefore, should the laptop cooling pad not be under the laptop fan which is located under the laptop?
