I have seen forums that discuss battery problems, backlights and backlight inverters. What has been your experience with this problem and how did you fix it? I removed my battery and the problem seems to have disappated. Should I get a new battery? Where are the test points to check battery fully charged voltage? Do the battery contacts ever get corroded. I have an HP Pavilion N5445 laptop. Like I said, the screen is not flickering right now or at least not as noticeably as when I have the battery in. I thought I had a virus or spyware. Not so sure now, maybe a combo though?

Dude maybe it’s a hardware problem but you haven’t looked at the software side. If your screen refresh rate is too low, you will see flicker. Right click an empty area on your desktop and click properties. Click the Settings Tab (top row of tabs) on the Display Properties window and then click Advanced, click Monitor and make sure your refresh rate is set to 60. The IDE Hard Disk was first introduced in the 1980’s and since then they have been the de facto hard drive used by PC manufacturers around the world.  The ubiquity of the IDE/ATA standard and its global adoption has resulted in hundreds of millions of units being manufactured. Anyone who has bought or owned a PC since the mid 1980’s, whether for home of business use will have purchased a PC with an IDE/SAT hard drive inside it.

In the last few years a new contender, the SATA (Serial-ATA) Hard Drive has entered the fray and because it provides a significant improvement in data transfer rates it has now replaced the slower IDE disks as the disk of choice.

Internet sharing via bluetooth?

Okay so I have Desktop Windows Vista Home Basic without bluetooth. And I have a MacBook Pro with bluetooth. I want to share internet from my desktop to my laptop using bluetooth. (I don’t have wireless). Is this practical or does it only times work? And when buying a bluetooth adapter, what should I look for in it so that it’s guaranteed to work?
