Pink Mouse

To get the best out of your computer, a mouse is an essential tool.  Not only does it make browsing as easy as clicking a button, some of them look incredibly stylish.  A computer mouse really does give you the power in the palm of your hand.

There are many different types of mouse out there, from a wireless mouse to an optical mouse, trackball mice, scroll wheel mice and even specialist mice for gaming.  Perhaps the most well known is the Microsoft IntelliMouse, an optical mouse that features additional buttons to make browsing that bit easier.  Another fantstic range are Logitech mice, which offer unrivalled comfort.

If you’re always on the move and are tired of using a laptop track pad, consider a wireless or optical mouse.  These will make the experience that much more simple and you’ll be able to get much more done in a shorter amount of time.  The responsiveness of an optical mouse is second to none, and they are ideal for travelling individuals as they work on pretty much all surfaces, apart from glass.  If you’re really looking for the best mobile computing experience, a wireless optical mouse is the only option to consider!

The colour pink is taking the computing world by storm, and now you can pick up the perfect pink mouse to go with a pink laptop.  Not only do they look fantastic, there’s something quirky about a pink mouse, like it’s got a bit of personality.  Take it into the business arena or the library, which is dominated by dreary colours, and you’ll certainly remain bright and breezy!

You can even pick up a pink optical mouse in a bundle with a keyboard, so you’ll really be in the driving seat when it comes to fast, easy browsing.  The Pink Saitek Keyboard & Mouse Bundle is an ideal option, and will give you some really nice gear without breaking the bank!

TOSHIBA Laptop Battery Articles & Tips

A new TOSHIBA laptop battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to the devices manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the digital camcorder TOSHIBA PA3451U-1BRS may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity. New TOSHIBA PA3451U-1BRS needs to be fully charged and discharged (cycled) a few times before it can condition to full capacity. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused. Always store a Laptop Battery pack in a fully charged staged for storage. When charging the TOSHIBA PA3451U-1BRS for the first time the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Remove the camcorder batteries from the device, reinsert it and repeat the charging procedure

It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) the TOSHIBA PA3451U-1BRS every two to three weeks. Failure to do so may significantly shorten the battery’s life (this does not apply to Li-ion batteries, which do not require conditioning). To discharge, simply run the device under the battery’s power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in the user’s manual. If the battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that TOSHIBA PA3451U-1BRS be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place.

Invest in a good charger for your camcorder. Ni-MH batteries should not be charged in a NiCad charger, unless the charger is specifically made for both chemistries. There are cheap chargers and there are expensive chargers. Make sure the charger you get has good reviews and is well made. Chargers with micro-controller chips are usually the best choice of your digital camcorder.

Be sure to store your Laptop Battery properly. Do not leave your batteries in a hot car, or in humid conditions. The best storage conditions are a cool, dry place. The refrigerator is fine if you stick in a packet of silica gel with your TOSHIBA PA3451U-1BRS in a sealed bag to keep them dry. It is a good idea to charge your NiCad or Ni-MH batteries fully before use if they have been in storage.

Upgrade my TOSHIBA Laptop Battery From Ni-MH to Li-ion

NiCad, Ni-MH and Li-ion TOSHIBA Laptop Battery is all fundamentally different from one another and cannot be substituted unless the Laptop has been pre-configured from the manufacturer to accept more than one type of battery chemistry. Please refer to your manual to find out which rechargeable battery types the laptop device supports or use our TOSHIBA Battery Finder above to find all the compatible Laptop Battery for your device. It will automatically list all of the battery chemistries supported by your specific device. If your device does allow you to upgrade the battery from Ni-MH to Li-ion, you will typically get longer run time.

For example, if your Laptop uses a NI-MH battery that is 9.6 Volts, 4000mAh and the new Li-ion Laptop Battery is 14.4 Volt, 3600mAh, then you will obtain longer run time with the Li-ion battery.

Example:

Li-ion: 14.4 Volts x 3.6 Amperes = 51.84 Watt Hours
Ni-MH: 9.6 Volts x 4 Amperes = 38.4 Watt Hours
The Li-ion is stronger and has longer run time.

How Can I Maximize the performance of My TOSHIBA Laptop Battery?

There are several steps you can take to help you get maximum performance from your Laptop Battery:

Prevent the Memory Effect – Keep the Laptop Battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-ion batteries which do not suffer from the memory effect.

Keep the TOSHIBA Laptop Battery Clean – It’s a good idea to clean dirty battery contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and the portable device.

Exercise the Battery – Do not leave the battery dormant for long periods of time. We recommend using the battery at least once every two to three weeks. If an Laptop Battery has not been used for a long period of time, perform the new battery break in procedure described above.

Battery Storage – If you don’t plan on using the Laptop Battery for a month or more, store it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. NiCad, Ni-MH and Li-ion batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember to recharge the batteries before use.

What is The Run Time of Battery-Company.com.au’s Laptop Battery?

TOSHIBA Laptop Battery have two main ratings on them: Volts and Amperes. Because size and weight of Laptop Battery is limited when compared to larger batteries such as car batteries, most companies show their ratings with Volts and Mill amperes. One thousand Mill amperes equals 1 Ampere. When buying a battery, select batteries with the most Mill amperes (or mAh). Batteries are also rated by Watt-Hours, perhaps the simplest rating of all. This is found by multiplying the Volts and the Amperes together. For example:

14.4 Volts, 4000mAh (Note: 4000mAh is equal to 4.0 Amperes).

14.4 x 4.0 = 57.60 Watt-Hours

Watt-Hours signify the energy needed to power one watt for one hour. This TOSHIBA Laptop Battery can power 57.60 watts for one hour. If your laptop runs at 20.50 watts, as an example, this laptop battery could power your laptop for 2.8 hours.

Laptop Messenger Bags and Briefcases for the Modern Man

There are so many types and styles of laptop bags out there that it can be difficult to choose between them. From standard cases to messenger style bags, backpacks to briefcases, the variety is truly astonishing.

It is important to choose the laptop bag that is right for your situation and fits your own sense of style. While a backpack style laptop bag might be right for someone who is on-the-go often and has a very casual sense of style, it might not be quite so perfect for a high powered executive who wears power suits and $500 shoes!

Laptop bags can be expensive. Even the least expensive bags start at $30 to $50. A decent quality bag that will last a while and protect your computer adequately will probably cost at least $100. If you want something in real leather with a brand name, you might have to pay $300 or more. With prices like these, it is an investment that should be taken lightly.

The first thing you should do before you shop for a laptop bag is to find out how large your laptop is. Laptops that are 15 inch or smaller in size should fit into any laptop bag. But if your laptop is 17 inch or larger, it will need a 17 inch bag. These are more difficult to find than smaller bags, and you wont have quite the selection you would if you had a 15 inch laptop.

Next, you need to figure out what you need to carry in your bag. Remember, it wont be just your laptop you will be transporting! You will also probably be carrying your laptops AC adaptor, a mouse, other accessories, and perhaps note pads, notebooks, pens, books, magazines, newspapers, and other stuff. You will need something that can accommodate all of your items comfortably, with a bit of space left for those times when you need to carry more.

Another important consideration is your sense of style. Choosing the right bag is not only about price or size, it is also about choosing the bag that will fit your personality, lifestyle, and sense of style.

Messenger bags are great for semi-casual professionals. They are sleek, stylish, and professional, but still a little fun and sporty. They are generally good for carrying your laptop, but little else. Their small size does not make them good candidates for those who carry a lot of accessories.

Laptop backpacks are very good for people who travel a lot with their laptop. They distribute weight evenly between two shoulders rather than one, which helps make you more comfortable when you have to carry your computer for a long period of time. They are best for casual use, for school and more casual work settings.

Professionals need something more like a traditional laptop case or briefcase. The standard hard-shell briefcase is not good for laptops, because they can slide around and become damaged. Soft shell briefcases are the standard for laptops. Depending on the model, these cases can hold a lot of accessories, and are very good for professionals who need to carry a lot more than just their computer.

Remember, it is important to choose the right case for you. This can be a relatively expensive investment, and it protects another expensive investment. Choosing the right one is important, because you probably wont be able to return it once it has been used for a while.

One Million Laptop Computers For Poor Students

One million laptop computers will be given out free to poor students of secondary schools nationwide soon in an effort to increase broadband penetration in the country.

Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chairman Tan Sri Khalid Ramli said the government targeted 50 per cent Internet use by the year end.

“At the moment, the country has achieved 36 per cent broadband penetration,” he said after attending the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day celebration in the Tersang 3 Felda scheme, near here, Sunday, officiated by Pahang Information, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin.

Khalid said as for Pahang, the broadband penetration so far was 19 per cent compared to the 32 per cent targeted.

He said as telecommunication development was vital for any country’s development, various programmes such as the Broadband Carnival in Tersang 3 Felda had been organised by the government to expose rural people to the benefits of the Internet and communication information technology.

“We are aware that some rural and remote areas have no broadband coverage, and that is why we have set up community broadband centres which provide Internet facility to the local communities.”

Khalid said in Pahang alone, 37 such centres had been established with 8,000 people having registered with these centres.

The MCMC will also build 1,000 more telecommunication towers in the country including 207 in Pahang to expand services.

How can I remote access my Desktop PC and laptop?

How can I remote access my Desktop PC and laptop that are running off of Win XP from my other laptop that running Win 7? The Desktop is not wireless but both laptops are, and I’m using a linksys wireless-G router.

First – are you going to access the machines over a LAN (such as in your home) or over the internet?

If it’s on a local LAN, use TightVNC or UltraVNC. They are both free and available on the web as downloads

If it’s over the Internet, I would use a free remote control website like Logmein.com. You load the software on the target machines and you have a fast secure connection from any other machine that has a browser.
It’s a whole lot easier than setting up a VPN and creating a tunnel through the firewalls.

Recover data from formatted IDE hard devices drive

Integrated Drive Electronics-IDE is a computer hardware bus used primarily for hard drives and optical drives
Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE) refers not just to the connector and interface definition, but also to the fact that the drive controller is integrated into the drive, as opposed to a separate controller on or connected to the motherboard.
Integrated Drive Electronics later renamed to ATA, with the alias P-ATA (“parallel ATA”) retroactively added upon introduction of the new variant Serial ATA. The original name reflected the innovative integration of HDD controller with HDD itself, which was not found in earlier disks. Moving the HDD controller from the interface card to the disk drive helped to standardize interfaces, and to reduce the cost and complexity.

Many IDE devices(including Laptop Hard Drives and standard IDE Hard Drives.) have to format.if you will format IDE drive, make sure the important data have been backuped.Otherwise, you need unformat the IDE device.
Of course,if you lost files after format IDE hard drive, you can recover the files with data recovery software.

Now,EIDE was an unofficial update (by Western Digital) to the original IDE standard, with the key improvement being the use of direct memory access (DMA) to transfer data between the disk and the computer without the involvement of the CPU, an improvement later adopted by the official ATA standards.

In 1994, about the same time that the ATA-1 standard was adopted, Western Digital introduced drives under a slightly new name, Enhanced IDE (EIDE). These included most of the features of the forthcoming ATA-2 specification and several additional enhancements. Other manufacturers introduced their own variations of ATA-1 such as “Fast ATA” and “Fast ATA-2″.

The new version of the ANSI standard, AT Attachment Interface with Extensions ATA-2 (X3.279-1996), was approved in 1996. It included most of the features of the manufacturer-specific variants.

Connect laptop hard drive to IDE cable, please help

Hello, I’m trying to connect my laptop hard drive to my desktop IDE cable. I have the adapter, but I want to connect it the right way so that I do not damage the hard drive. The adapter has a Molex 4 pin connector on one end, to connect to either the first two or the last two pins on the hard drive depending on how the adapter is orientated and connected. It will fit either way. Please tell me the correct way to connect the adapter with the hard drive label side facing up.

Thanks in advance,
Uni
The adapter can go on either way there is nothing preventing it from being installed the wrong way. I may have to buy a idiot proof adapter. If no one can give me the correct answer.
There are not 2 pins separated from the others, but 4.

Thanks to all.

Just make sure you don’t use the 2 pins to the left that are separate from the others
