New Laptop Motherboard And A Better Option

A laptop can often require a new motherboard after a power surge or sudden disconnection of power from the main source, this is the main reason why running only on AC power can have its downsides when using a notebook. However, it has to be said that should your laptop need a new motherboard it doesn’t have to be an expensive or stressful experience and providing you use the right source to obtain the motherboard it can be a swift process also.

So after you have overcome the panic of the laptop not powering up and the stress of trying absolutely everything to overcome the issue it is often advisable to turn to forums and seek the opinion of others to confirm that your laptop is in need of a new motherboard. Then the process of seeking a new motherboard suitable for your laptop begins. My advice here is that to get yourself back up and running you don’t have to provide you laptop with a new motherboard, instead I advise you to opt for a refurbished and tested motherboard – providing it comes with a never fal guarantee or a dead on arrival guarantee.

Why do I advise this option for your laptop instead of a new motherboard? Simple, because with these guarantees and a tested motherboard you will be making a huge saving for a product that is identical but at half the price or even less. And you have the confidence of the guarantees and tests from the motherboard so it really is the no-brainer option. The benefits of buying online have become self explanatory over time, but to be able to combine it with the idea described above can leave you to benefit better than ever before.

Being able to source this type of motherboard, the not new, but nearly new motherboard should be done with care, there are many site that will offer a motherboard without testing and without guarantees. Make sure that the guarantees that are proved are clear to see, also that the site has a great reputation, seeking for reviews, forum posts or comments elsewhere on the internet will allow you the confidence to benefit from buying the nearly new laptop motherboard.

Take the time to source the best site to purchase your nearly new laptop motherboard from and receive all the guarantees we mention, the knowledge that the part is tested by qualified technicians and also get free shipping on your orders. Start your search and end it all in one click with LaptopAid.com.

3G for notebook laptops

These days, numerous cellular network carriers are offering computer users access to their 3G networks. Laptops, especially, acquire the most benefits because of their portability. Since they are smaller and lighter than desktop computers, they can be taken anywhere where 3G signals exist. Hence, laptop users can now surf the Internet without having to connect to a wireless network or hotspot. Then again, some 3G modems may have certain special requirements. So, if you do not want to encounter any problem when connecting to the Internet, you have to make sure that your laptop or notebook is compatible. 3G for a laptop is better than Wi-Fi because Wi-Fi hotspots are not available in all places. 3G offers more reliable connectivity. Good thing, some companies give away free notebooks or free notebook computers with 3G compatibility as promotional offers.

These huge carrier and computer companies offer 3G because plenty of customers ask for it. So, it is really a great idea to start out with free notebook computers or free notebooks with 3G. After all, mobile broadband is really better when it comes to security and availability. It is actually more protected compared to Wi-Fi hotspots. In addition, a lot of laptops now are being made with built-in mobile broadband cards. In some cases, though, these broadband cards are optional. Plug-in radio modems are available, as well. This is really great because, now, computer users have good options to choose from. Two of the big computer companies that offer 3G options on their notebooks are Dell and Hewlett-Packard. These products will be sure to help you connect to the net at anytime of your choosing. The 3G card can be considered as a much better choice for folks who just can’t manage with the tiny screens of the smart phones.

A free notebook computer is a cool promotional idea. Other companies could surely make use of this idea to encourage customers to try new technological advancements; although 3G has been available since 2001. Obviously, Wi-Fi hotspots are not everywhere. So, a person cannot always connect to the Internet. Businessmen, especially, will not be able to send out vital information instantly when they are on the road. 3G or third-generation technology, on the other hand, is widely available. Thus, a free notebook computer or a free notebook with a 3G feature will enable its user to automatically connect to the Internet without further hassle. In the United States, AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless all offer 3G services, and have a wide range of data plans; ranging from a small data plans for small usage or plans that are unlimited that will allow you to surf on the 3G network all day as much as you want without having to worry about getting outrageous overage bills.

The world is really changing fast; and technology is advancing at a fast pace. If people want to keep up, they should maximize every available option. 3G for free notebooks and laptops are among these. By having access to the internet at all times, you are sure to stay connected at all times.

AT&T Laptop Connection Services? (tethering, connect card)?

Ok well I want to get internet on my laptop, whenever I am not at my house. My teacher has one of those “mi-fi” devices with verizon and she recommended I get one. I have at&t and I heard that it is possible to “tether” my device ( i have a blackberry) with the laptop (i have a mac pro) as a modem. I tried this trial program of 7 days called tetherberry (http://tether.com/) and it worked pretty well, if I had to say. The only thing is that when I wanted to go on youtube or sites similar to it it went really slow, especially when the video loaded or streamed. I am not sure if this would be the same thing with getting the tethering service on at&t. Does anyone have it? Is it fast? I would also consider getting a connect card, that USB drive you plug in as a modem. Any suggestions? Anyone have either of those two services? Can you give me feedback? Thanks!

Yest it will be slow. Mobile service is slow right now. Wait a couple of years.

DELL Laptop AC Adapter
Articles & Tips

A new DELL Laptop AC Adapter comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to the devices manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the digital camcorder DELL XPS M140 may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity. New DELL XPS M140 needs to be fully charged and discharged (cycled) a few times before it can condition to full capacity. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused. Always store a camcorder battery pack in a fully charged staged for storage.When charging the DELL XPS M140 for the first time the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Remove the camcorder batteries from the device, reinsert it and repeat the charging procedure

It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) the DELL XPS M140 every two to three weeks. Failure to do so may significantly shorten the battery’s life (this does not apply to Li-Ion batteries, which do not require conditioning). To discharge, simply run the device under the battery’s power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in the user’s manual. If the battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that DELL XPS M140 be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place.

Invest in a good charger for your camcorder. NiMH batteries should not be charged in a NiCad charger, unless the charger is specifically made for both chemistries. There are cheap chargers and there are expensive chargers. Make sure the charger you get has good reviews and is well made. Chargers with micro-controller chips are usually the best choice of your digital camcorder.

Be sure to store your Laptop AC Adapter properly. Do not leave your batteries in a hot car, or in humid conditions. The best storage conditions are a cool, dry place. The refrigerator is fine if you stick in a packet of silica gel with your DELL XPS M140 in a sealed bag to keep them dry. It is a good idea to charge your NiCad or NiMH batteries fully before use if they have been in storage.

Upgrade my DELL Laptop AC Adapter from NiMH to Li-Ion

NiCad, NiMH and Li-Ion DELL Laptop AC Adapter are all fundamentally different from one another and cannot be substituted unless the Laptop AC Adapter has been pre-configured from the manufacturer to accept more than one type of battery chemistry. Please refer to your manual to find out which rechargeable battery types the laptop device supports or use our DELL Battery Finder above to find all the compatible Laptop AC Adapter for your device. It will automatically list all of the battery chemistries supported by your specific device. If your device does allow you to upgrade the battery from NiMH to Li-Ion, you will typically get longer run times.

For example, if your Laptop AC Adapter uses a NI-MH battery that is 9.6 Volts, 4000mAh and the new li-ion Laptop AC Adapter is 14.4 Volt, 3600mAh, then you will obtain longer run time with the li-ion battery.

Example.

Li-Ion: 14.4 Volts x 3.6 Amperes = 51.84 Watt Hours
Ni-MH: 9.6 Volts x 4 Amperes = 38.4 Watt Hours
The Li-Ion is stronger and has longer run time.

How can I maximize the performance of my DELL Laptop AC Adapter?

There are several steps you can take to help you get maximum performance from your Laptop AC Adapter:

Prevent the Memory Effect – Keep the Laptop AC Adapter healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-Ion batteries which do not suffer from the memory effect.

Keep the DELL Laptop AC Adapter Clean – It’s a good idea to clean dirty battery contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and the portable device.

Exercise the Battery – Do not leave the battery dormant for long periods of time. We recommend using the battery at least once every two to three weeks. If a Laptop AC Adapter has not been used for a long period of time, perform the new battery break in procedure described above.

Battery Storage – If you don’t plan on using the Laptop AC Adapter for a month or more, store it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. NiCad, NiMH and Li-Ion batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember to recharge the batteries before use.

What is the run time of Battery-company.com.au’s Laptop AC Adapter?

DELL Laptop AC Adapter have two main ratings on them: Volts and Amperes. Because size and weight of laptop batteries is limited when compared to larger batteries such as car batteries, most companies show their ratings with Volts and Milliamperes. One thousand Milliamperes equals 1 Ampere. When buying a battery, select batteries with the most Milliamperes (or mAh). Batteries are also rated by Watt-Hours, perhaps the simplest rating of all. This is found by multiplying the Volts and the Amperes together. For example:

14.4 Volts, 4000mAh (Note: 4000mAh is equal to 4.0 Amperes).

14.4 x 4.0 = 57.60 Watt-Hours

Watt-Hours signifies the energy needed to power one watt for one hour. This DELL Laptop AC Adapter can power 57.60 watts for one hour. If your laptop runs at 20.50 watts, as an example, this laptop battery could power your laptop for 2.8 hours.

Flip DVI KVM Switch does not work with a VGA port on a laptop?

Hi I have just bought a Flip DVI KVM Switch. I have the following set up:

* One monitor with a DVI connection only plugged into the belkin flip switch;
* A mac mini computer running mac osx which only has a DVI port;
* A DVI/VGA gender changer connector to convert the one of the Belkin DVI output cables to VGA;
* A windows vista laptop (Lenovo Thinpad x61s) which only has a VGA port;
* Mac wired mouse and keyboard plugged into the belkin flip switch;

Everything works fine when I am switched to the mac mini, with its DVI connector. However when I flip over to the Windows laptop with its VGA connector, the mouse and keyboard works, but the monitor doesn’t. It looks like for some reason my monitor does not recognise the laptop after the DVI/VGA converter has been fitted – problem is my laptop does not have a DVI port?

Any ideas – I was really looking forward to this working?

Thanks!

Most likely because the DVI KVM switch will only pass through a digital DVI signal and cannot work with analog VGA.
