My display fades in and out and eventually it goes blueish grey. This is not the blue screen of death, btw. I changed the inverter, but that didn’t fix the issue. I think my next step is to replace the display hardware but which part? The LCD screen or do I need to replace the whole display?

i brought the belkin laptop cooler today. connected it via usb to my computer when i got in and it was great….i put my laptop down, go upstairs for a few mins, come back and no-more cooling…. no matter how many times i take the usb in and out and turn my laptop off etc, even put in on my sisters laptop…the fan will not work!!

Are All Monitors Like This?
I have recently purchased a Dell U2410, and am upgrading from a relatively old eMachines monitor. With the older monitor that I was replacing, I experienced a “speckling” of a bright image. Even though the picture was a solid white color, all of the pixels seemed to be slightly different colors, which made the image seem odd.
Now, with my new monitor, this is even more apparent. Instead of something being a solid color, each pixel has some variation that prevents it from being entirely uniform.
Is this normal?
I also forgot to mention that when I switch to the HDMI input for my newer monitor, I still experience the “speckles”. I’m guessing it’s not a graphics card problem.
No that’s not normal. It’s probably not being caused by your monitor if it’s happened on two different monitors. It’s most likely your cable connection to your video card, you video card, or the vga(or other) cable itself
try unplugging the vga cable from the computer itself, and plugging it back in, they usually have ‘screws’ that you should make sure are fastened tightly
it could also be your video card, which if it is, then you should probably bring it in to a computer store to replace the video card
