How to Get a Proper Toshiba Laptop Battery Replacement

It is dangerous for users that when an important work is running, the laptop suddenly comes to be shut down or restart automatically. At worst, the important data may be lost and never to get back. To get a proper Toshiba laptop battery replacement, the condition as above must be avoided. Then what should be done to ensure that it will never happen once again? To learn more about batteries is the first step.

Toshiba laptop battery history

Shortly, the technology of laptop batteries has passed by a long way. Experienced by the age of Ni-cd and Ni-MH, the batteries today come to be lighter and far more powerful than several years before. However, the battery technology is still limited. Even if a rechargeable laptop battery, it won’t finally get rid of failure. That is, with the continuously developed technology, the battery still cannot get the point of an unlimited lifespan.

What will the battery life lead to?

At the end of the usage life, the battery power cannot be offered as much as before.

Every time of use, it will be shorted by the quality and capacity until absolutely dead. Normally, a new Toshiba laptop battery will last for nearly 2 years or more. If it is not enough for you, a 3 year warranty can be available with an extra expense.

What should be done to Toshiba laptop battery?

It is usually strange for most users to get a replacement battery for the laptop. Although so easy it is, where and how to get a proper one seems to be tough. If you have learned a little knowledge of the parameters, quality and compatibility, it is absolutely easy to get a best battery with a low price.

A reliable manufacturer or retailer of Toshiba laptop battery

Compared with shopping mall retailers, it seems to be a more efficient way to get a replacement laptop battery. Not only the price can by compared in several websites, but the further information about compatible laptop models, battery care and output voltage and current of the battery are provided.

Besides, a reliable manufacturer or retailer usually will offer you a warranty of 1 full year. The accident damage cannot be avoided by chance for most manufacturers. Certainly, the refurbished battery can also be excluded.

A proper compatible Toshiba laptop battery

Laptop battery is a device of highly specialized technology. Even if a Toshiba laptop battery, it cannot match all the Toshiba laptops well. Each model has its own nominal voltage and current. It is best to choose by the specification to get a compatible battery for your laptop. Normally, the seller provides you a compatible laptop model list, which will get you the answer. Besides, just search for the parts number is a good choice.

For someone who is often on business trip, it is significant to buy new Toshiba laptop battery instead of a refurbished one as a replacement. Any time to experience the condition of automatic shutdown or restart will drive you mad. A battery with enough capacity and stable performance can relax you from recharging frequently.

What computer manufacturers are rated best on customer satisfaction and reliability of laptops?

I’m looking to buy a laptop, and am wondering which company would be best to buy from. I’m leaning towards HP and Toshiba.

Definitely Apple. Do not buy an HP, I’ll tell you that. My mom has one and despite not doing anything “bad” with it, it’s been awful. It was slow from the beginning and that’s just gotten worse. It’s at the point where she can click something, get up to do something else, and come back later, and it’s not even that old (I think it’s got 1gb of RAM). It’s also extremely problematic, not working with all sorts of things that are even the same brand that it advertises being able to work with, driver errors 24/7, random errors that don’t make sense, problems that don’t explain themselves, etc. We’ve sent it for repair once and it still doesn’t work well. Also, a part of my school uses HP laptops for work. I’ve used them. They’re like my mom’s, slow, problematic, and other things of the like. People have complained about randomly losing documents (hasn’t happened to me personally). Toshiba may be OK, but Windows just isn’t what it used to be anyway. Personally I’d recommend Apple, because they’ve been rated by plenty of people to have the best tech support (they’re very friendly and helpful), they’re quick to help when you have problems, Mac laptops have great build quality, they’re pretty durable, and being a Mac user since ’06, I can tell you that the OS is NOT as bad as some PC users will tell you.
Mac OS used to be bad, but they’ve fixed that. Apple will fix any problem they’ve got on their hands because instead of covering it in sugar and acting like the problems were never there (remind you of any other major software company?), they fix it. Then instead of letting their OS be mostly the same thing since Windows 95, they move with time. Microsoft doesn’t like to change. They try to keep it as “the same” as they can while making just enough changes for each version to be different. They go by “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” In fact, the go by “if it is broke, don’t fix it.” Apple ignores both of these and continues to make changes to their OS over time, so instead of letting it be the same for over 15 years and letting what worked back then be a problem now, they always fix it. OS X is now easier to develop for (Windows is the same to develop for as it’s always been), has more to offer in features and capabilities for both the user and the developer, it utilizes hardware better (but still you should get at least 1gb of RAM), and it’s got tons of useful features that you can turn off if you don’t like them. Windows may have more software out for it now, but that’s because there used to be a bigger market for it. With more and more people buying Macs and increasing popularity, it’s becoming increasingly normal for developers to put their software on Mac, because it’s so much more appealing from their standpoint. Easier and better to develop for, and there’s more of a market for it now. So of course they’re going to go the way of the Mac. Hope this helped.

Everything About Asus EeePc

Its title and slogan are one and the same; easy to learn, easy to work and easy to play, or Eee, sums up this little nugget fairly well. However, it could also have been called the Eeee PC, adding ‘easy on the wallet’ to the end.

It is possibly the cheapest firsthand notebook you’ll get your hands on, but it doesn’t resort to cheap or old technology. In fact it is one of the few notebooks currently available that uses a solid state drive, even if it only has a 4GB capacity. Solid state memory is advantageous in terms of speed and also for data safety. With no moving parts there is far less risk of causing damage to your drive with a knock or drop.

The Work tab opens up 15 different applications, ranging from standard Office-type software to a dictionary. The documents, spreadsheets, and presentations icons all lead to their respective applications in the free, open socuments, spreadsheets, and presentations icons all lead to their respective applications in the free, open source office software suite Open Office. The Eee PC even comes with its own Anti-Virus software and in the learn section, has a typing and a painting program. Asus plans to include more open source education-related office software suite Open Office. The Eee PC even comes with its own Anti-Virus software and in the learn section, has a typing and a painting program. Asus plans to include more open source education-related software when the Eee PC hits the market later this year, but didn’t give any more information on specific titles.

According to ASUS representatives, Standard mode was made to be “Windows-like” and looks and feels just like a typical Windows OS. The Windows Start button is replaced by a Launch icon, and navigating through files and applications is just like Windows. Even the minimize, maximize, and close buttons in the top right of each application window on the Eee PC 701 look identical to that of the Windows XP Silver style theme we run on our own standard notebooks. It seems as though ASUS is trying to bring as much “Windows-like” functionality to the Eee PC as they possibly can. With Windows in mind, ASUS has said that the Eee PC has already been tested to work on Microsoft’s Windows XP, but to keep costs down it will not come pre-installed on the Eee PC.

At the heart of the Eee PC is the Celeron M 900 MHz processor. This is an ultra-low-voltage model with 512KB L2-cache. Released in September 2004, this CPU is based on the Pentium M microarchitecture. Although it is a couple of generations behind the latest processors found in some ultra-portable notebooks (such as the Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 and T7500), the machine nevertheless felt quick and responsive at all times. The machine booted up in 14 seconds, and most applications opened up without any significant delay.

Although the processor is rated at 900 Mhz, the BIOS shipped with the Eee (0401) limits the speed of the front size bus. This has the effect that the CPU is actually running at a mere 630 MHz, significantly slower than its advertised speed. Of course there are positive benefits from having the processor underclocked (such as longer battery life and less heat being generated). Furthermore, the machine still has more than enough grunt to handle CPU intensive tasks. For example, playing video files (divx, xvid etc) only consumes about 25-30% of the CPU.

Nevertheless, I trust that Asus will address this issue in a future stable BIOS release (or kernel module) so that the true horsepower of the machine is realized.

The Eee (Model 701) ships with a single 512MB memory module. If the machine had been running Windows XP as its operating system (perish the thought) the amount of RAM could present a problem, especially if, like me, you run lots of applications simultaneously. However, the customized Xandros distribution is much more efficient, with the 512MB of RAM supplied being more than sufficient. Note, there’s no swap file or swap partition.

For anyone thinking that they’ll just replace the memory stick, be warned that the RAM access panel has a tiny ‘warranty void if seal broken’ sticker covering one of its screws. However, voiding the warranty by performing a RAM upgrade is likely to be enforceable in law in many countries (assuming that no damage is caused to the machine during the upgrade itself).

ASUS Laptop Battery Articles & Tips

A new ASUS laptop battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to the devices manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the digital camcorder ASUS Eee PC 901 may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity. New ASUS Eee PC 901 needs to be fully charged and discharged (cycled) a few times before it can condition to full capacity. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused. Always store a Laptop Battery pack in a fully charged staged for storage. When charging the ASUS Eee PC 901 for the first time the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Remove the camcorder batteries from the device, reinsert it and repeat the charging procedure

It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) the ASUS Eee PC 901 every two to three weeks. Failure to do so may significantly shorten the battery’s life (this does not apply to Li-ion batteries, which do not require conditioning). To discharge, simply run the device under the battery’s power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in the user’s manual. If the battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that ASUS Eee PC 901 be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place.

Invest in a good charger for your camcorder. Ni-MH batteries should not be charged in a NiCad charger, unless the charger is specifically made for both chemistries. There are cheap chargers and there are expensive chargers. Make sure the charger you get has good reviews and is well made. Chargers with micro-controller chips are usually the best choice of your digital camcorder.

Be sure to store your Laptop Battery properly. Do not leave your batteries in a hot car, or in humid conditions. The best storage conditions are a cool, dry place. The refrigerator is fine if you stick in a packet of silica gel with your ASUS Eee PC 901 in a sealed bag to keep them dry. It is a good idea to charge your NiCad or Ni-MH batteries fully before use if they have been in storage.

Upgrade my ASUS Laptop Battery From Ni-MH to Li-ion

NiCad, Ni-MH and Li-ion ASUS Laptop Battery is all fundamentally different from one another and cannot be substituted unless the Laptop has been pre-configured from the manufacturer to accept more than one type of battery chemistry. Please refer to your manual to find out which rechargeable battery types the laptop device supports or use our ASUS Battery Finder above to find all the compatible Laptop Battery for your device. It will automatically list all of the battery chemistries supported by your specific device. If your device does allow you to upgrade the battery from Ni-MH to Li-ion, you will typically get longer run time.

For example, if your Laptop uses a NI-MH battery that is 9.6 Volts, 4000mAh and the new Li-ion Laptop Battery is 14.4 Volt, 3600mAh, then you will obtain longer run time with the Li-ion battery.

Example:

Li-ion: 14.4 Volts x 3.6 Amperes = 51.84 Watt Hours
Ni-MH: 9.6 Volts x 4 Amperes = 38.4 Watt Hours
The Li-ion is stronger and has longer run time.

How Can I Maximize the performance of My ASUS Laptop Battery?

There are several steps you can take to help you get maximum performance from your Laptop Battery:

Prevent the Memory Effect – Keep the Laptop Battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-ion batteries which do not suffer from the memory effect.

Keep the ASUS Laptop Battery Clean – It’s a good idea to clean dirty battery contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and the portable device.

Exercise the Battery – Do not leave the battery dormant for long periods of time. We recommend using the battery at least once every two to three weeks. If an Laptop Battery has not been used for a long period of time, perform the new battery break in procedure described above.

Battery Storage – If you don’t plan on using the Laptop Battery for a month or more, store it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. NiCad, Ni-MH and Li-ion batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember to recharge the batteries before use.

What is The Run Time of Battery-Company.com.au’s Laptop Battery?

ASUS Laptop Battery have two main ratings on them: Volts and Amperes. Because size and weight of Laptop Battery is limited when compared to larger batteries such as car batteries, most companies show their ratings with Volts and Mill amperes. One thousand Mill amperes equals 1 Ampere. When buying a battery, select batteries with the most Mill amperes (or mAh). Batteries are also rated by Watt-Hours, perhaps the simplest rating of all. This is found by multiplying the Volts and the Amperes together. For example:

14.4 Volts, 4000mAh (Note: 4000mAh is equal to 4.0 Amperes).

14.4 x 4.0 = 57.60 Watt-Hours

Watt-Hours signify the energy needed to power one watt for one hour. This ASUS Laptop Battery can power 57.60 watts for one hour. If your laptop runs at 20.50 watts, as an example, this laptop battery could power your laptop for 2.8 hours.

Help in buying a laptop?

I need to buy a new laptop. I want something around 5 lbs, with 4 GB of memory (preferably expandable). I need good battery life, 6 hours or so, and I need a 2 year warranty with good reliability history. Also built-in optical drive, a few USB ports, and a high-quality screen.

HDD should be 320 – 500 GB and 7200 RPM definitely a plus. Cost matters, but I’d gladly pay a few more bucks for something that will work well for some time.

It will be used for email, websurfing, travel, and a lot of movie watching.

I’ve looked at the ASUS UL50VT and the ACER 5810, but both seem to sacrifice quality for weight and economy. The Dell Studio series seems good as well even though my last PC was a Dell and I did not love it. I had good experience with a VAIO some time back but they seem expensive for what you get.

So I’d welcome suggestions, along with why you think the suggestions are good!

Thank you!

Wow. You have extremely high standards. lol. You usually either need to lean toward portability or performance, but not always. =D

Portability recommendations:

in my opinion, the third one is the best.

Performance/Performance AND Portability:

If you really want something that has what YOU want , then i would suggest you buy from a company directly. I, personally, ordered my hp dv4t from hp direct and got the specs i wanted. It was a bit expensive, but i’m loving this laptop. Its 14.1 inches so its portable, theres a decent core 2 duo, up to 8 GB of RAM, a 12 cell battery is offered if battery life is a concern, and a good graphics card, as long as your not planning to do ultra hardcore gaming.

You can buy from any company, but only hp offers up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. Also, vaios often break easily hardware wise and are often overpriced. Toshiba is great too, but i found that HP gives the best specs and prices.
For your needs, you don’t need anything extreme though, but if you plan do run games like Dragon Age and such, and u also want portability, i would suggest customizing your own laptop and making a direct order.

Good luck.
