1. Remove the wire from both the laptop and the outlet.

5. Move the wrapped wires out of the way, and gently cut the inner insulating plastic only a few millimeters from the end. You will only need a tiny bit of exposed cord for this inner wire.
6. Hold the Dell ac adapter power jack and carefully remove from the motherboard. When the power jack is successfully removed, clean the oxidized contacts with a sharp metal object. Apply a coat of solder to the contacts. Clean the Dell Inspiron 1420 AC Adapter jack, and place the solders to all sides of the motherboard.
7. Secure the entire connection with a complete wrap of electrical tape, and test your connection.

Troubles with my Dell Inspiron 1545 AC adapter?

so, i just bought a new laptop not too long ago, maybe around Late June of this year and the AC adapter has been giving me an error message everytime i try to charge it gives me this little error message ” the AC power adapter type cannot be determined. Your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge. Please connect a Dell 65W AC adaper or higher for best system operation. ” i was wondering what it could be , or how i could solve it.

I would say take it to best buy & have them look at it.

My daughter has the same kind of laptop & she has had trouble with the cord twice now. She didnt buy it from Best Buy though. I had had so many problems with laptops from Best Buy in my area that I refuse to buy anymore there.

Maybe you can let me know if you get it fixed & what was wrong. The first time she had trouble we contacted Dell & they gave her a new cord & it worked great for awhile. My daughter this last time bought a adapter of ebay & it wont charge the battery but at least she can use the laptop with it plugged in.

Also you can try to remove the battery to see if that helps & than put the battery back. It worked for her one time.

I bought this Dell laptop very recently in UK and I have read that american versions have backlighting for the keyboard. I wonder if there is any way I can turn this feature on, on mine? Sof ar I have not been successful- tried control panel and function keys but nothing seems to work.

What order do i reinstall the default settings cds on my dell inspiron 1525?

My Dell Inspiron 1525 is having problems (that’s a whole nother can of worms) and i’m going to try resetting it again. i have a couple of disks: drivers and utilities and operating system and i don’t know what one i need to reinstall first. i know i can put the other disks for the webcam and works back on later.
