Sony Vaio – NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS – Distorted

Hello I have Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z laptop and it is been installedwith Windows Vista. The problem is that the device was working fine but then suddenly now when I turn on my system I get a distorted graphics or screen on startup. I have no idea what could have been the reason for the same. Please do help me out in getting the issue to be sorted. It would be a great help. I use NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphic card.

The problem is possibly related to the graphic card and it could be that you may need to install the appropriate drivers for the same. It could be that the driver is corrupt and hence you need to uninstall the driver that is been corrupt and get a fresh copy of the same and get it install to the system. Hope this will help. Do check for the thing and make the necessary implementation.

You can make the things to work out by going to the control panel option and then look out for the desired application or drivers. Then click on remove button and then restart the system. This will sort the issue. Now install the fresh copy of the application and make the things to process well accordingly. I hope this will make it work.

I would suggest you to plug the device to external monitor and then check out. You may then come across that the issue is with the graphic card or the screen. It could be possible that the screen might have gone damage or some IC may have been worn out. So I would suggest you to do the needful. IT may help.

I guess the drivers are not compatible with the system. So in order to heck out you can try out by installing the drivers under safe mode or under compatibility mode. Install the application by right clicking on the installer.exe and install under compatible mode for Windows Xp. Also you can try upgrading the driver and then check out for the output. This may also help you well.

The problem could generally be related to the panel that is connected to the keypad. That is the strip between the screen and the keypad may have been worn out and this is the reason that you are not able to cope well with the thing. So in order to make the issue sorted so do look out for the thing well. So check out.

I would recommend you to take the device to the manufacturer. They will help you out well for getting the things to work out well for you and make the proper changes as required. So do check out and process well. I hope you may then be able to sort the thing. It is definitely the issue with graphic slot or the card that is installed. Service it.

Should I Get a Sony Laptop or Apple Laptop?

MacBook Pro specs: 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM. Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz. HDD 250GB 5200 rpm. Backlit keyboard. NVIDIA Geforce 320M GPU. 10 hour battery. Apple SuperDrive.

I’ve had my Sony Laptop for 2 years, same price but it’s 2.4 Ghz (outdated obviously). Hasn’t broken down once, i’ve played games like Wolverine, Madden 09, Prince of Persia with perfect gameplay. Sony has Mac beat in almost everything other than battery power. My battery power drains really fast but i don’t carry my Sony Laptop outside or in class so i don’t mind having it connected to the outlet. If you are planning to get use a laptop for Class, then buy a netbook but if the laptop is for general use, i HIGHLY and STRONGLY recommend Sony.

iPad, Kindle 2 and Nook – the end of paper books?

Will e-readers mean the end of paper books? Only time will tell. Amazon and Barnes & Noble seem to have positioned themselves to benefit either way- when a company is selling paper books, e-readers and content for e-readers; there is a sale opportunity for everyone, no matter which format they prefer. Apple, on the other hand, is reliant on device and device content sales with the iPad.
The push seems to be on for e-readers with all these marketing giants involved. It is easy to forget all the other e-reader manufacturers out there with the hype surrounding the iPad, Kindle 2 and Nook. Sony has had some success with their PRS series e-readers: with a reported 300,000+ units sold, they can’t be discounted. And there are many other manufacturers, too – some familiar like Samsung, some unfamiliar (at least to me) like Iriver.
There are a few factors that may hinder the growth of e-readers: technophobia and competing formats being the major issues.
Technophobia is especially widespread among certain demographics – older, less educated females especially are noted for their resistance to computer use, although this may be changing due to societal and peer pressure. Technohobes are found in every country, age group, race, and gender. Whether e-readers, due to their ease of use and resemblance to traditional reading materials are able to overcome this bias, will be interesting to see. The iPad in particular would scare many technophobes due to the touchscreen navigation and resemblance to a computer or cell phone.
The competing format issue can’t be discounted, either. Traditional reading materials come as books, magazine or newspapers, but you don’t have to change your brain and eyes to process the information they contain! With e-readers, at the moment, you do. Similar to the situation prevalent in the early age of VCR technology, there are multiple incompatible formats available. Unlike VCRs, which had only 3 main formats, e-reader formats currently number approximately 16. Sixteen different formats to access the same information? Who thinks this is a good idea?
Until there is a major shakeout or agreement between content providers, this is going to continue to be a problem. Most e-readers are able to access the information in more than one format – the Kindle 2 for example can read .azw, .html, .mobi, .tr3, .txt (plain text) and .mp3 files. Barnes & Noble’s Nook can read .epub, .pdb, .pdf and .mp3 files. This Tower of Babel creates unnecessary chaos and confusion among publishers of content, and a burden to the consumer. Who wants to memorize an alphabet soup of supported file formats, and know which ones they can use, and which are unavailable? Even public libraries are adding to the problem, using OverDrive to distribute their content to patrons, as WMA files limits which devices can access this information -for example, OverDrive is not compatible with the Kindle 2, but is with the iPad. OverDrive has to provide a whole page for users to see if their device is usable. To further add to the confusion, many people use their smartphones as e-readers, adding more file formats to the list.
Many avid readers have taken to the Kindle 2 and Nook, as the e-Ink most closely resembles the traditional paper reading process. Neither device is back-lit, which means less eye strain, too. The iPad has caused a stir, and with Apple’s marketing prowess and the huge iTunes store already available as a sales engine for e-books, looks to be a formidable contender to Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Whether traditionalists take to an electronic device instead of a book or magazine, remains to be seen. I can’t imagine lugging my Kindle 2 to the beach and exposing it to sand, salt spray and sun. The next few years will be interesting.

How to disable middle button on keyboard for Sony Vaio Laptop?

i have a sony vaio vgn-ax570g with a little small button in the middle of the keyboard. i want to disable it. it purpose was to move the mouse and with a light tap, it left clicked. i don’t want it to click randomly when i type, so i want to disable it. thanks in advance

if you are funning XP do this:
Click start
Click control panel
Click printers and other hardware
Click Mouse
and in there there should be an option for the stick/eraser mouse – you should be able to shut it off there.

The new Sony VAIO NW series of laptops are now powered by an Intel T4200 processor running at 2GHz, with a 160 GB hard drive for storage, and has up to 2 GB of RAM. Yes, if your laptop has an HDMI, then use it. As far as precautions, there really aren’t any needed. It sounds as though your laptop is pretty high end and it’s display is likely capable of some pretty high resolutions that your TV does not support… so if you try to run a resolution the TV does not support, you will probably get an unsupported mode message.
